Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) boss Francis Atwoli has blasted Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba for taking leave to be with his wife who delivered instead of participating in demos.

“How do you take such a leave when the party needs you most….what kind of behavior is this,” Atwoli said
The COTU boss said Namwamba and other Western leaders have been absent from addressing issues affecting the country like the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) stalemate.

Atwoli said the photos of the Budalangi MP circulating on social media showed arrogance from the ODM leader.

“ Huo ni ushenzi na upumbavu some of us have more than one wife and grandchildren but we do not go round posting their pictures everywhere.”
Atwoli said.

Atwoli said Luhya leaders like Ababu Namwamba were embarrassing the community due to their behavior which showed ignorance.

On Tuesday, June 7, the Budalangi MP gave his reason of being absent from the IEBC demonstrations and other political activities in the country.

Speaking at Parliament buildings Namwamba said he had taken a paternity leave as his wife had just delivered their third child.

The stylish Namwamba has been a sensation on social media since being elected as MP.

Photos of him and wife Priscah going for holidays in India and other foreign countries usually elicit debate on social media.
