A man broke into tears on Monday morning after he was cornered operating as a doctor at Nakuru Level Five Hospital. George Mburu is said to have been working at the facility's casual area for the past week attending to patients under a false name. Doctors at the facility reportedly grew suspicious of the man who claimed to have been attending to outpatient clients and planned a trap to bust him. Mburu was cornered by medical officers as he reported for work, with the officers recovering a stethoscope, an identification card, and full medical attire from him. The hospital management stated that Mr Mburu was the third fake medical practitioner to be nabbed at the facility. According to Joseph Kiprotich, a clinical officer, the hospital was conducting investigations to ascertain how many patients the 'doctor' had attended to and the drugs he had prescribed. The suspect broke into tears after he was paraded as other clinical officers seemingly intimidated him while he calmly sat awaiting the next action from the management. On his part, the fake medical officer defended himself claiming that he was fully qualified and had been offering services at the facility on a voluntary basis. “I have been doing the same in a hospital in Kitale because it was just voluntarily and I thought I could do the same,” he was quoted by the Star.
