Kakamega man beaten to death by his wife’s lover in bloody love triangle

A middle-aged man from Munyuki Village in Lugari Constituency, Kakamega County was on Monday, November 14, beaten to death by his wife’s lover. Musa Harun, who had been away from home, busted his wife having sex with the alleged mpango wa kando (lover) in their matrimonial home before a fist fight ensued between the two men on wee hours of Monday. When the woman’s lover realised he was being overpowered, he called his friends on phone – who rushed to Musa’s house – and beat Musa to death. Confirming the incident, Lugari OCPD Bernard Macharia said the woman’s lover carried Musa’s corpse to his house so that he could burn the body to destroy evidence. However, when the suspect’s attempts to set Musa’s body on fire hit a snag, he rushed to Lumakanda Police Station to report that he’d accidentally killed a theft suspect who had attacked him in his house. Police have arrested the woman’s lover and his three cronies for murder. The suspects are expected to be arraigned once investigations are concluded.
